ASTM C651 testing covers the determination of the flexural strength of manufactured carbon and graphite articles using a simple beam in four-point loading at room temperature.
Test specimens will be a parallelepiped with a rectangular cross section. If the specimens have a maximum particle size less than 0.006 inches in diameter, the specimens must be finished so that roughness is less than 125 μin. Specimens may be machined by the customer or Touchstone.
This test will yield the maximum applied load and the flexural strength of the specimens. Data from testing may be used for material development, quality control, characterization and design data purposes
Please email info@trl.com or call (304) 547-5800 for information regarding any ASTM C651 questions you may have.
