ASTM D885 covers the testing of industrial filament yards made from manufactured organic-base fibers, cords twisted from those yarns, fabrics woven from those cords and products made specifically for the use in the manufacturing of pneumatic tires.
Specimens are conditioned or oven-dried and then clamped in a tensile testing machine and stretched or loaded until broken. Breaking force, elongation and force at specified elongation (FASE) are determined directly. Modulus and work-to-break are calculated from a force-elongation curve.
Please email info@trl.com or call (304) 547-5800 for information regarding test procedures, results, specimen information, pricing or any other ASTM D885 questions you may have.
